Hello Everyone. My name is Samantha McLenegan. I am currently a graphic design student at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia. I am originally from Pennsylvania and decided to attend ODU in 2004. I was a member of the Old Dominion Woman’s Field Hockey Team from 2004-2007. While playing field hockey I was still focused on my art and design career. I have always known that I wanted to do something with art and I feel like graphic design has been the best field for me. I enjoy coming up with ideas and making them happen. I am a very persistent and hard working person. I am not content until I feel like my job has been done. I learned many life skills from playing field hockey and have transfered them over into my life. A main trait I learned is to be true to yourself; do the best that you are capable of doing and do not try to be anything that you are not. Leadership was a main quality that I attained from the team. In 2007 I was selected as co-captain of the team and dealt with issues within the team and learned how to problem solve. Being on a team, it was important to know how to work well with other and try to get the best out of every person. These qualities have helped me grow as an individual and artist. They have helped to mold me into the person I am today and I am willing to put in the time to be successful. I want to attain my goals and dreams and will take the steps needed to attain them.
